COLUMBIA - The True/False Film Festival finishes up its ninth annual celebration Sunday. The festival began Thursday and organizers were expecting the largest turn-out ever, estimating ticket sales to reach 30,000.
This year's festival showcases 40 films from around the world, including "Undefeated", an Oscar-winning documentary directed by Mizzou grad Dan Lindsay.
Festival Director, David Wilson said they are happy the festival has grown, but they really want to focus on continuing to bring quality films to the event each year. No numbers were available yet on just how many people attended the festival, or how many tickets were sold. Wilson said the team will "hibernate" for a couple weeks, and then begin planning for the 10th celebration next year.
Tonight's celebratory event at the Missouri Theatre featured a catered dinner prior to the closing night films at this location. For more information on the films, and what the festival is all about, click here.
