COLUMBIA - A man robbed a bank employee outside of Landmark Bank at 3100 Paris Road around 7:33 Friday morning.

According to Latisha Stroer, spokesperson for the Columbia Police Department, the employee said she was arriving at the bank when a man dressed in all black and a ski mask, armed with a handgun, emerged from the bushes. The unknown man then demanded her wallet and keys, but did not physically harm the victim and did not gain entry to the bank.

The victim said he proceeded to steal her car and drive it a block down Mexico Gravel Road.

The car was found abandoned, but still running, at the corner of Mexico Gravel Road and Alpine Drive by police soon after. The suspect's black clothes were found in the woods nearby, but the gun has not been located. The bank employee's wallet, which was attached to her car keys, was still in the car.

The suspect was last seen running in a southbound direction, away from Alpine Drive and Mexico Gravel Road. Columbia Police are investigating the incident.
