COLUMBIA - Former Missouri softball player Abby Vock has been nominated for the 21st NCAA Woman of the Year award.

Vock, a recent graduate, earned All-Big 12 first team honors as a key member of the 2011 Big 12 Champion Tiger squad. Her efforts helped lead the team to a conference title and an appearance in the Women's College World Series for the third year in a row. She led the Big 12 in slugging percentage during conference play and batted .357, good for sixth in the league.

Vock has put together an extensive resume during her college career. She received the Missouri's Unsung Hero Award in 2011 and was both a three-time team captain and a three-time Academic All-Big 12 selection.

The NCAA Woman of the Year selection committee will choose the top 10 nominees in each division. From a pool of 30 nominees, the selection committee will determine its top three in each division, and then vote on the winner from there.
