Women's College World Series
OKLAHOMA CITY, Ok. - The Women's College World Series continues in Oklahoma City. Sunday night, a pair of semifinal games. The Washington Huskies, who eliminated Missouri from the NCAA tournament, met the number one national seed, Oklahoma.
We pick up highlights from the top of the scoreless third inning. Brianna Turang triples, then scores on a wild pitch by Kaitlyn Ingelsby, putting OU up by 1. It's followed by a home run by #29 Lauren Chamberlain, making it 2-0 Sooners. Still in the third, national player of the year Keilani Ricketts homers as well for a 3-0 lead.
Oklahoma would go on to win 6-2. They will now play in the best of three National Championship series.
In the other semifinal, Tennessee from the SEC faces Texas of the Big 12. In the top of the first, Lauren Gibson taps a solo homer to left, making it 1-0 Tennessee.
Moving to the sixth with bases loaded, Blaire Luna walks in a run bring the Vols to 2-0. In the bottom of the seventh, Lindsey Stephens has a homer as well, bringing Texas within one.
In the bottom of the seventh with 2 outs, Longhorns final hitter lines out to the pitcher. Tennessee wins 2-1, and advances to best of three National Championship series.
