First Alert Forecast
A few isolated thundershowers will drift through central Missouri this evening. Most will stay dry as temps remain warm. Overnight lows will fall into the upper 60s.
Our best chance for showers and thunderstorms this Memorial Day weekend will be Friday. Round #1 moves through before 10AM and more pop-up t-storms are possible by mid afternoon. A few of these storms could be on the stronger side, with strong winds and small hail possible. High temperatures will only reach the lower to middle 80s on Friday due to increasing cloud cover ahead of the storms.
The remainder of the weekend will feature high temperatures near 90 (and near records) along with dew points in the lower to middle 70s, meaning humidity will be rather uncomfortable, if not oppressive at times. The heat index, or feel-like temperatures each afternoon will likely be in the middle to upper 90s. The weekend will feel like July and August, not late May.
We also cannot rule out a pop-up shower/thunderstorm throughout the weekend, but certainly the majority of the weekend looks mostly to partly sunny, hot and humid. There will be plenty of dry time and sunshine for outdoor activities. Don't forget the sunscreen and/or a hat.
