First Alert Forecast
Freezing rain/drizzle/sleet will continue on and off through about 9AM. Slick spots will certainly be possible on roads through this time, however, southwestern Mid-MO will see a quicker warm up and warmer ground temps so treated roads will be okay this morning if taken slow. Heaviest ice accumulations and slickest roads will be over western and northern Missouri where sleet may develop and ground temps are colder.
A slow warm-up will eventually push temps above 32 degrees by mid-morning. This warmer air will end the freezing rain event and send temps to near 40 in the afternoon. A round of non-freezing rain is possible this evening and overnight.
Friday will be mainly dry with mostly cloudy skies and highs in the middle 50s. More rain showers are expected Friday evening and throughout the day Saturday. Temperatures will be warm enough that only rain is expected. This system will exit Sunday morning leaving sunshine in the forecast and highs in the 50s and 60s to begin the new work and school week.
