    PITTSBURGH - The Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 17-7 in the second game of the preseason Saturday night.

    Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs' starting offense couldn't get much going against the Steelers' defense. Mahomes finished just 2/5 for 11 yards.

    COLUMBIA - The Columbia Mall will become home to a second Dillard’s and to a hotel, pending approval by the Columbia City Council, according to the Columbia Missourian.

    The Dillard’s would be housed in the vacant building that used to be Sears, which closed in July 2018. The conversion will include interior renovations valued at $200,000, according to a construction permit issued by the city. CDI Contractors will do the work.

    COLUMBIA — Maries County deputies asked the public for help identifying two people who broke into a church and stole guitars. 

    Maries County Sheriff Chris Heitman posted surveillance footage showing a man and woman enter Kingdom Life Revival Church on Hwy 68 in the Vichy area. They are seen approaching equipment on the stage.

    COLUMBIA - The Cars 4 Kids event scheduled for Saturday has been postponed due to rain in the forecast. Organizers are planning a new date.

    Cars 4 Kids founder Victor Nieves works in the Pathology Department at the Women's and Children's Hospital. When he realized how hard it can be to take care of a sick child, he wanted to help.

    COLUMBIA - Over 50 cats and dogs will be available for adoption at the Central Missouri Humane Society for a $20 adoption fee on Saturday.

    The event comes from a partnership that NBC and Telemundo has with hundreds of shelters across the nation. It's a national pet adoption drive that encourages families to adopt a pet and give an animal a loving home. According to the associate director of the Humane Society Michelle Casey, this is the the first time they've held the event.

    JEFFERSON CITY - A U.S. District Judge ruled against State Rep. Cheri Toalson Reisch, R-Hallsville, in a lawsuit about her Twitter account blocking users.

    In June 2018, a Centralia man filed a lawsuit in federal court, seeking to bar Reisch from blocking him or anyone from her Twitter page based on their viewpoints or content.

    COLUMBIA - A preliminary autopsy performed on Friday could not determine the gender or age of the infant remains found in north Columbia on Thursday.

    Assistant Police Chief Jeremiah Hunter said the child was found in "such a state of decomposition" that no new details could be determined.
