Missouri police chief arrested, charged with assault

CAMDEN COUNTY — Linn Creek, Missouri Police Chief Greg Berry was arrested Saturday afternoon by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. His arrest stems from an off-duty incident on Oct. 10, 2019.
Berry had been suspended from his Chief of Police position since Oct. 11.

COLUMBIA — Two women were seriously injured after a head-on collision between a Prius and a semi-truck early Sunday morning, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol crash reports.
The crash happened at about 12:55 a.m. on Interstate 70 near Midway.
15th Annual Chili Cookoff fundraises for Boys & Girls Club of Columbia

COLUMBIA - Thousands of people and more than 300 gallons of chili filled the Expo Center Saturday for the 15th Annual Rootin' Tootin' Chili Competition.
The competition, hosted by the Boys & Girls Club of Columbia, featured over 40 different chilis. From classic red to buffalo chicken, attendees and judges voted for their favorite to win top prizes. But, it wasn't all about the recipes. The biggest celebration was that all proceeds go directly back to the local Boys & Girls Club.
Runners raise money for Multiple Sclerosis research

COLUMBIA — Runners braved the cold weather Saturday morning for the R.A.M.S 5K.
R.A.M.S is a nonprofit MU organization that raises money for people with Multiple Sclerosis. It stands for Rockin' Against Multiple Sclerosis.
Mizzou baseball outlasts Jacksonville State in extra innings

JACKSONVILLE, AL - The University of Missouri Tigers baseball team defeated the Jacksonville State University Gamecocks in extra innings on Saturday, 6-4.
Mizzou got off to a hot start, bringing in two runs in the first inning. Mark Vierling and Chad McDaniel both scored for the Tigers.
73-year-old Missouri man killed; son arrested

FESTUS (AP) — Police in eastern Missouri say a 73-year-old man has been shot to death, and his 42-year-old son was arrested and charged with killing his father.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office reports that someone reported the shooting Saturday morning inside a home in Festus. Sheriff's deputies who arrived at the home found the injured man, who has not yet been identified.
Blues fall victim to Predators

ST. LOUIS, MO - The St. Louis Blues fell to the Nashville Predators on Saturday, 4-3.
It was a bleak start for the Blues as they let up two goals in the first period. Viktor Arvidsson had the first goal of the day for the Predators after six and a half minutes. A few minutes later, Matt Duchene scored once again for Nashville.
Columbia College Men defeat Lindenwood-Belleville

BELLEVILLE, IL - The Columbia College Cougars Men's team defeated the Lindenwood-Belleville Lynx on Saturday, 77-66.
Columbia College took a ten point lead in the first half behind a strong offensive performance. The Cougars led 37-27 at halftime.

Former City Manager Don Allard dies in Colorado

COLUMBIA - Don Allard, who served as Columbia’s city manager for 12 years, died Wednesday in Arvada, Colorado, after a battle with cancer. He was 90.
