    Kansas City - The Kansas City Chiefs (6-1) might just have something special. Sensational quarterback Patrick Mahomes launched four touchdown passes in a 45-10 primetime dismantling of the Cincinnati Bengals (4-3).

    Everywhere you looked for Kansas City there were standout performances. Kareem Hunt ran for 86 yards and had three total touchdowns. Tight end Travis Kelce was one of five Chiefs receivers who caught at least four balls. Kelce finished with five catches for 95 yards. Speedster Tyreek Hill contributed seven grabs for 68 yards and a touchdown. Mahomes was dynamite yet again for the Chiefs. He completed passes to eight different receivers and finished the game 28 of 39 for 358 yards and four scores. The 23 year old did toss his fifth interception of the season.

    Columbia - The Missouri soccer team scored a critical 2-0 victory over Florida on senior day at Walton Stadium. The victory over the Gators was the second in program history. More importantly, the win gives the Tigers 10 points in the SEC and keeps their postseason hopes alive with one match left in the regular season.

    The Tigers got the scoring started quickly in the 10th minute when Jefferson City native Sarah Luebbert notched her fourth goal of the season. Bella Alessi played a spectacular ball across the face of the goal, and all Luebbert had to do was tap it in to put the Tigers ahead 1-0. Skye Kingsley added an important insurance goal in the 65th minute.

    Gainesville, FL - The Missouri volleyball team (18-4, 8-2 SEC) captured its most impressive victory of the season with a five set (25-23, 16-25, 25-17, 13-25, 17-15) road win against SEC leading No. 11 Florida. The Tigers have now won six consecutive matches and are settled into third place in the conference.

     The Tigers traded sets with the Gators for the first four sets to set up an exciting fifth set. The Tigers clawed back from deficits of 5-0 and 9-4 to win the 5th set 17-15. Florida out-hit the Tigers .318 to .269 and out-blocked them 4 to 1, but three Mizzou service aces along with 12 final set kills made the difference.

    COLUMBIA - The Missouri men’s basketball program suffered a crushing blow Sunday night when it was announced that sophomore power forward Jontay Porter will miss the entire 2018-2019 season after tearing the ACL and MCL in his knee. The injury occurred during a closed scrimmage with Southern Illinois.

    Porter averaged 9.9 points and 6.8 rebounds as a freshman sixth man last season. He was named to the SEC all – freshman team and the co - SEC sixth man of the year. The 6’11 forward entered the draft initially, but opted to return to school for another year after testing the NBA Draft waters. Porter was projected by some as a sure-fire lottery pick in the 2019 NBA draft prior to the injury.

  • Missouri bounces back to throttle Memphis 65-33 Posted on 21 October 2018 at 9:17am

    COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Defense came at a premium in Missouri's homecoming game against Memphis. The teams combined for 68 points in the first half, and continued to keep the scoreboard operator busy in the second.

    When it was all said and done, Missouri rolled over Memphis. Drew Lock threw for 350 yards and four touchdowns on 23-for-29 passing, and Missouri defeated Memphis 65-33 in its homecoming game on Saturday.

    Our game of the week features a battle of two 5-3 teams as the Moberly Spartans visit the Mexico Bulldogs. Both teams feature defenses that have had success in forcing turnovers over the course of the season.

    MONTREAL- The St. Louis Blues had hopes of winning their second game of the season as they arrived in Montreal to play The Canadiens. Unfortunately for St. Louis, it will leave disappointed due to a score of 3-2.

    Montreal scored its first goal with only 39 seconds into the first period. They had this 1-0 lead until the second period, where St. Louis' Vince Dunn tied it up on a power play goal. Four minutes later, The Canadiens scored another goal to enter the final period up one.

    PARKVILLE, MO- The Columbia College women's soccer team traveled to Parkville, where it played Park University in The American Midwest Conference's Game of the Week. The Cougars defeated the Pirates 4-1.

    The Columbia College Cougars started off strong, as sophomore Molly Klein scored on the team's first shot on goal less than 10 minutes into the match. At about the 20 minute mark, Columbia College's Samantha Bassler blasted another ball into the back of the net, making the half-time score 2-0.

    COLUMBIA - On Tuesday, the Southeastern Conference picked the Missouri women's basketball team to finish fifth in the 2018-19 SEC preseason media poll.

    Senior Sophie Cunningham was one of seven players chosen to the preseason All-SEC team.
