COLUMBIA - The City of Columbia confirmed Friday the household hazardous waste collection is cancelled.
The waste collection was set to happen on Saturday July 21.
The Columbia Solid Waste Utility said it canceled the pickup due to a large staff shortage.
Officials said residents should place both trash and recycling curbside as normal on Friday.
If roadside trash is not picked up on Friday July 20, the Waste Utility staff will collect trash and recycled materials from streets on Saturday July 21.
Staffing shortages may continue into next week.
