Ride the Ducks company has history of incidentsPosted on 20 July 2018 at 3:06am
According to the Ripley Entertainment website, Ride the Ducks Branson used to be owned by the national Ride the Ducks company until it was purchased by Ripley Entertainment in December of 2017.
A 2016 article by The Inquirer details reports of fatal incidents with the national company that date back to 2010.
In 2010, two people died on the Delaware River when one of the boats was run over by a barge.
In a 2015 incident, a woman was killed when one of the amphibious boats struck her near the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.
That same year, an additional crash with a charter bus on the Aurora Bridge in Seattle killed five passengers.
Ripley Entertainment Public Relations Manager Suzanne Smagala-Potts sent a press release on Friday morning:
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic accident that occurred this evening at Ride The Ducks Branson. This incident has deeply affected all of us. We will continue to do all we can to assist the families who were involved and the authorities as they continue with the search and rescue.
