$1 Million Grant to Aid Homeless in St. Louis
ST. LOUIS (AP) -- St. Louis is getting another $1 million to fight homelessness.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the Department of Housing and Urban Development funding is in addition to $1.25 million it received for mental health services earlier this year.
Mayor Francis Slay says the money puts the city "on the cusp of ending chronic homelessness."
An estimated 178 chronically homeless people are in the city.
