10-bed hospital planned in north St. Louis
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Plans are moving ahead for a $10-bed, $2 million hospital in north St. Louis.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Northside Health Center Inc. has sent a letter of intent to Missouri health regulators. An attorney for the project says it is a collaboration of several interests, but declined further comment.
The hospital would be named Northside Medical Center. The application describes it as a "limited service emergency and urgent care hospital and triage center for critical care assessment, early intervention and transport."
It is the second urgent care hospital proposed for the city's north side since November, when developer Paul McKee received approval from the state for a three-bed, $6.8 million urgent care hospital within his redevelopment area northwest of downtown.
