15 arrests Made During "Operation Dry Water"
LAKE OF THE OZARKS - The Missouri State Highway Patrol announced results from "Operation Dry Water" campaign on Wednesday, noting troopers made 15 arrests for boating while intoxicated and issued 44 citations for other safety violations. 182 boaters were contacted during the operation at the Lake of the Ozarks and the Osage and Gasconade rivers on June 23.
The nationwide operation was a high-profile alcohol enforcement effort aimed at detecting and arresting drunken boat operators.
The .08 percent blood alcohol-content limit for driving on Missouri roads also applies to boating. Officials will continue enforcement throughout the summer months and remind lake-goers to have a designated sober driver while boating.
