BOONE COUNTY — The Columbia Police Department confirmed a missing persons report that was received by the Boone County Sheriff's Department December 9, 2012.

Tim Johnson, 40, called in the report regarding his son Brad Johnson, 17, shortly after finding his car abandoned at Columbia's Cosmo Skate Park around 2 a.m. Tim Johnson told KOMU Thursday that his son's phone had been shut off for several days and the seat to his car was placed in an abnormal position.

The father of the missing teen said his son's coat and contacts were left at home. Originally Tim Johnson thought Brad snuck out to see his girlfriend and would be back the following morning.

The Boone County Sheriff's Department and Columbia Police Department are currently working together to try to find the 17-year-old boy. The sheriff's department asks if anyone has information of Brad Johnson's whereabouts to please call them at (573) 875-1111.

For more information on the incident you can visit the father's website.
