2 employees injured in fire at Procter & Gamble plant
JACKSON (AP) - Authorities said two employees were injured in a fire at the Procter & Gamble plant in eastern Missouri.
The Southeast Missourian reported the extent of the workers' injuries and their condition weren't immediately known Monday afternoon.
East County and Fruitland fire departments responded to the Jackson plant around 5 a.m. for a report of a fire.
East County Fire Chief Dwayne Kirchhoff said the blaze was contained by other employees by the time crews arrived. He said the incident began when a piece of equipment caught fire.
The newspaper said the plant manufactures products such as toilet paper, paper towels and diapers.
