30-Year Veteran to Head Highway Patrol
Keathley has spent almost three decades with the highway patrol, and currently commands the Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
He said the patrol will focus on curbing aggressive drivers, defending against attacks and responding to catastrophes.
"We will get very aggresive with our homeland security efforts," Keathley explained. "We will get better at collecting and gathering intelligence and we will work closely with SEMA and other state agencies with disaster drills and exercises."
The Missouri Senate must review and vote on Keathley's appointment before he can start his new job.
