MOKANE — Sheriff's deputies arrested two men and two women after finding illegal drugs at a house in Mokane Friday night, according to a news release from the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.

An ongoing investigation by the Sheriff's Office and drug task forces led to a search warrant, which deputies executed at 8:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Collier Street.

During that search, deputies say they found methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and other "controlled substances" in the form of pills.

According to the news release, Daniel Smith, Crystal Clark, Lori Dodson and Dewayne Clayton were arrested on suspicion of the following:

  • Smith was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and a parole warrant from the Missouri Department of Corrections.
  • Clark was arrested for a parole warrant from the Missouri Department of Corrections and a Callaway County warrant for driving without a license.
  • Dodson was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and possession of under 10 grams of marijuana.
  • Clayton was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and a Boone County warrant for driving while intoxicated.

As of Saturday night, three of the four remain in custody at the Callaway County Jail. Dodson, who posted a $5,500 bond, was released pending an appearance in court.

The Sheriff's Office encourages citizens to report drug activity to the office directly, or through an anonymous call to Crimestoppers at (573) 592 - 2474.
