5 arrested in connection with southwest Missouri homicide
HALLTOWN (AP) — Authorities have arrested five people in connection with a reportedly drug-related southwest Missouri homicide.
Eighteen-year-old Nathaniel Lee, of Seymour, 19-year-old Brooke Beckley, of Nixa, 19-year-old Anthony Donovan, of Springfield and 17-year-old Josh Applegate, of Fordland, were charged Tuesday with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Oscar Martinez. No attorneys are listed for them in online court records.
Webster County Sheriff Roye Cole said the three men were arrested in Christian County soon after Monday's shooting at a home near Fordland. Cole says Beckley and a fifth suspect fled from deputies before ditching their vehicle on Interstate 44 in Lawrence County.
Officers arrested Beckley at the scene, and dozens of officers searched before he was arrested later Tuesday in Lawrence County.
