5-year-old shot, wounded while riding in car in St. Louis
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Authorities say a 5-year-old has been shot and wounded while riding in a car in St. Louis, capping off a week in which four youths died in unrelated shootings in the city.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that police say the child was shot around 10 p.m. Thursday in the city's midtown area and rushed to a hospital in critical condition. A preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle in which the child was riding wasn't the target of the shooting. No other details were available.
Since Saturday, a 3-year-old, 11-year-old and two 16-year-olds have been killed.
