All Day Kindergarten?
Now, the school board needs to decide by Jan. 16 whether to put a bond issue and a two-and-a-half-cent tax on the April 3 ballot. If the board does that, voters will decide if all-day kindergarten will happen.
If voters pass both proposals, the $33 million bond issue will pay for the new school as well as projects at other elementary schools. The two-and-a-half-cent tax will pay for additional staff and maintenance.
The Jefferson City Board of Education will discuss both proposals at its Jan. 16 meeting which starts at 6 p.m in the district administrative offices.
