Alleged Murder/Suicide Shocks Ozarks Town
CABOOL - On November 21, police found the bodies of a mother and her autistic son after being called to their residence in Cabool, a town in Texas County, by family members.
The investigation shows Tammy Fleming, 43, shot her son Charles Loftis, 15, and then shot herself. Charles suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, and his mother died of a gunshot wound from the same gun, also in the chest area. Family members say her wrists were also cut.
Fleming left a detailed suicide note, explaining money problems were the reason for her suicide.
The case is being investigated by the Cabool Police Department and the Texas County Coroners office.
