KANSAS CITY (AP) - The parent company of theater chain AMC Entertainment is making another attempt at taking the company public. Kansas City-based AMC Entertainment Holdings says it plans to make an initial public offering for the company. It's the nation's second-largest theater operator. Other details weren't announced, but the company says it intends to use the money to pay off debts. A previous proposed IPO was dropped, because of "adverse market conditions." Since then, movies such as "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" and "Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix," have generated big box-office numbers.
