American Airlines releases statement on stuck plane
COLUMBIA - American Airlines released a statement to KOMU 8 News Monday night after flight 3621 got stuck in a grassy area at Columbia Regional Airport.
The plane, a CRJ-700, was taxiing for takeoff to Dallas/Fort Worth when the left main gear of the plane exited the taxiway. American said the plane had 62 passengers and four crew members on board. No one was injured in the incident.
American said in part, "Maintenance is en route to evaluate the aircraft and we are working to re-accommodate customers on other flights to their final destinations."
The airline also said Envoy Air, which was operating the flight for American, was cooperating fully with the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board.
