Arrest made in sexual assault case after investigation
COLUMBIA - Columbia police made an arrest today in a sexual assault case after investigators searched the home of Joanthony Deaundre Johnson.
Criminal investigators were made aware of the sexual assault on Feb. 4 and served a search warrant to Johnson at his residence on Feb. 19.
On the premises, police found evidence of the sexual assault in addition to drug paraphernalia including concentrated hash oils, hallucinogens, marijuana, glass smoking devices, a digital scale and several small plastic bags.
Johnson was arrested for rape in the first degree, distribution and production of controlled substances and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
His bond is set at $500 for the misdemeanor charge, but bond has not been set yet for the other two charges.
