ATF Looks into Recycling Plant Fire in SE Missouri
JACKSON (AP) - The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is investigating a fire that destroyed a southeast Missouri recycling plant.
The fire broke out Thursday night at Missouri Plastics in Jackson, about 100 miles south of St. Louis. No one was hurt but the 100,000-square-foot plant was a complete loss.
The Southeast Missourian reports that the ATF activated its National Response Team at the request of the Missouri Fire Marshal's office.
An ATF spokeswoman says the size of the fire - not any particular suspicion about its origins - prompted the involvement of the agency.
