Auctioning Off Campus Inn
Despite the bargains, Wolfe said this wasn't your typical Mom and Pop auction.
"This one you're going to look at a buyers market and people who are looking to use these items or sell for resale for income purposes."
Realtor Susan Horak found a few things for her new rental properties.
"Thought, well maybe we could pick up some TVs for some of the spare bedrooms and we were looking for a commercial dryer, because when you launder comforters a little home dryer isn't large enough for that so we were able to pick up a really nice commercial dryer."
After the auction was over, winners had three days to pick up their stuff. Horak came back to find an unexpected cost in the auction business.
"What I don't think I realized was how much labor, that were spending more on getting this stuff out and getting it moved than we are on what it cost us to buy it," she said.
A Hampton Inn will be built on the site of the Campus Inn and should open in May of 2008.
