Audit Rates Mo. Prosecution Services 'Good'
JEFFERSON CITY - The state auditor has rated as "good" the Missouri Office of Prosecution Services that assists prosecutors.
The report released Thursday raised two issues. It said checks were not restrictively endorsed immediately upon receipt and the date of receipt was not documented. It also reported two raises were given to employees that were not provided to other state workers.
The Office of Prosecution Services is overseen by the Prosecutors Coordinators Training Council. It is an autonomous entity within the attorney general's office.
The office says state law gives the council exclusive authority to set the executive director's salary. The executive director determines pay for staff with the council's consent. It said funding for merit-based raises did not come from general revenue.
On the other point, the office says it immediately changed procedures.
