Auxvasse shuts off water, issues boil order
AUXVASSE - The city of Auxvasse said Wednesday morning it shut off water to residents on the west side of town, who will be under a boil water order when their water is turned back on.
Officials said the shut down could last several hours. Residents will only be under a boil water order if their water was shut down.
The city said the shut down is related to the city's water improvement project, which started in November 2014. That project includes replacing water lines throughout the city and building a new well.
People affected by the boil water order should boil water vigorously before using it to cook or drink, dispose of ice cubes and replace them with boiled water and clean dishes using water with bleach.
Anyone with questions about the shut off or boil order should call the Auxvasse city hall at (573) 386-2227.
This is the third boil water order since April 20. All three had to do with the city's water improvement project.
