BattleHawks shut down by D.C. Defenders
Washington D.C. - After scoring a combined 52 points in their last two games, St. Louis was shut down offensively in a 15-6 loss to the D.C. Defenders on Sunday.
The BattleHawks got off to a quick three-point lead, but that would be the last time they would be in front all game. The Defenders responded with a touchdown on the next drive to take the lead.
St. Louis added a second field goal to tie it at six heading into the second half.
The BattleHawks slowly fell behind, as three D.C. field goals and a missed field goal of their own put them down 15-6.
St. Louis kept trying to get the ball into the endzone, as they went for it on fourth down on multiple drives while being in field goal range, but they were unsuccessful. The Defenders ran out the time to hand the BattleHawks a 15-6 loss.
St. Louis will hope to turn it around as they will travel to play the Tampa Bay Vipers on Saturday at 4 P.M.
