Becker, Henley, Bauer Earn All-Conference Honors
ST. LOUIS -- Emily Becker was one of three members of the William Woods University volleyball team to earn all-conference honors for the 2012 season, as announced by the league office on Saturday. Becker earned first team honors, while Amanda Henley and Kristen Bauer earned honorable mention accolades.
Henley earned her third career all-conference selection after finishing the year with a career-high single-season mark of 734 digs, the 10th-best mark in the NAIA. She finished her career as the all-time digs leader for the Owls with 2,207 in 440 sets played. She recorded 47 service aces on the year as well, finishing with 126 for her career.
Bauer earns her second straight honorable mention nod. The sophomore posted 363 kills on the year, second on the team, and posted two 20-dig outings on the 2012 season. She hit for a new career high in WWU's Sept. 28 win over Westminster, equaling the mark in the regular season finale for the Owls, a 3-1 win over Hannibal-LaGrange University.
After leading the Owls with 438 kills and a .238 attack percentage, Becker earned first team honors in her debut season. She notched nine double-doubles on the year, adding a triple-double in WWU's Sept. 26 win at Lindenwood University-Belleville. The freshman had 10 digs and 10 kills to go along with 14 total blocks (4 solo, 10 assists). She posted a career-high 20 kills against Westminster College earlier this year as well.
The Owls finished the 2012 season with a 21-19 overall record, earning fourth in the American Midwest Conference with a 12-6 league mark.
