Bloch Gives $32 Million to UMKC Business School
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The co-founder of H&R Block has donated $32 million to the University of Missouri-Kansas City's business school.
The donation from Henry Bloch is the largest outright gift in the university's history. It will be used to expand the business school, which is named for Bloch.
University officials said Thursday that the business school will build an addition, to be called the Henry W. Bloch Executive Hall for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. It is scheduled to open in fall 2013.
The Kansas City Star reports (http://bit.ly/oJeGo1) that the donation coincides with the announcement Friday that the Princeton Review has ranked UMKC's undergraduate and graduate business programs 14th and 21st, respectively, among business programs nationwide this year.
