Blue Jays Win One Before It Rains In Illinois
JACKSONVILLE, IL - Westminster College snapped a two-game losing streak with a 9-5 road victory over Illinois College.
The second game of Saturday's non-conference baseball doubleheader was rained out.
The Blue Jays (4-8) scored four runs on four hits in the second inning to grab a lead they would never relinquish, and they added single runs in the third and fourth innings, and tallied three more runs in the seventh inning. Senior Nick Hoag went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and senior Nick Genetti went 2-for-4 with one run scored and four RBI. Junior Tyler Ten Eyck (2-3) picked up the win, allowing four runs on seven hits.
Westminster opens St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play next weekend with a three-game home series against Greenville College.
