Blues are checked by Canadiens in final seconds
MONTREAL- The St. Louis Blues had hopes of winning their second game of the season as they arrived in Montreal to play The Canadiens. Unfortunately for St. Louis, it will leave disappointed due to a score of 3-2.
Montreal scored its first goal with only 39 seconds into the first period. They had this 1-0 lead until the second period, where St. Louis' Vince Dunn tied it up on a power play goal. Four minutes later, The Canadiens scored another goal to enter the final period up one.
The Blues kept trying to play catch up for the majority of the third period, and they scored another power play goal around sixteen minutes, this time from Brayden Schenn. The game looked as if it was going into overtime with the score at 2-2, but Montreal's Brendan Gallagher put the puck in the net with just ten seconds left to play, giving St. Louis its third straight loss.
The St. Louis Blues will try to turn their season around in Toronto on Saturday, where they play The Maple Leafs at 6 PM.
