Blues shutout by Bruins in Stanley Cup rematch
BOSTON - The St. Louis Blues recent struggles continued Saturday night as they lost 3-0 to the Boston Bruins.
It was the first time the two teams met since the Stanley Cup Final and the Bruins were hungry for revenge.
Losing in a shutout, the Blues have now dropped five of their last seven games; this is their first shutout loss of the young season.
The Blues didn't help themselves as they allowed two shorthanded goals from Anders Bjork and Brandon Carlo of the Bruins.
St. Louis won more 10 more face-offs than the Bruins and took two more shots but to no avail as the Blues couldn't find the back of the net.
Standing at 5-3-3 on the season, St. Louis is third place in the NHL Central division. They continue play Sunday against the Detroit Red Wings in the Motor City.
