Blunt Funds After School Programs
Blunt met with local business owners in Columbia on Wednesday to talk about how they can get involved in after school programs. He said his programs not only help the students who participate, but they also help the parents.
"A lot of working families are concerned about what their kids are going to be doing after school," Blunt commented. "Where there is a good solid after school program that they are participating in, mom and dad have a peace of mind at work and their going to be more productive."
Blunt said he included funding for after school programs in the state budget this year. Blunt remarked that it's up to the school districts to decide how to use it.
