Body Found in Missouri River Has Been Identified
JEFFERSON CITY - The body found in the Missouri River on Aug. 24th has been identified as Christopher Durbin, 38, of Russellville.
On Saturday, Aug. 24th, Jefferson City Police were contacted by officials from Union Pacific Railroad about a body floating in the river near the old Missouri State Penitentiary.
An investigation was initiated by Jefferson City Police Detectives with assistance from the Cole County Sheriff's Detectives to determine the circumstances of the death. There is no information related to the state of the body found that will be released at this point due to the open investigation, an autopsy is planned for today. Nothing is ruled out at this time concerning the death investigation.
