Boil advisory for Fayette until crews can fix water connections
FAYETTE - The city of Fayette Wednesday night issued an immediate boil advisory until further notice for all residents affected by a recent water plant disconnection. According to a press release from the city administrator's office, efforts to disconnect from the city's old water plant failed.
Crews anticipate being able to get water back on late Wednesday night, but even once the water is restored, it may be unsafe to drink.
Residents are advised to boil water vigorously for three minutes prior to use. The release also urges residents to use only boiled water for things such as drinking and brushing teeth. Water should be cooled to 110 degrees before drinking.
Water used for bathing does not need to be boiled before use.
