"Booby Trap" Play Opens at Berlin Theater
COLUMBIA - With October being breast cancer awareness month, Berlin Theater hopes to have a full house for Friday's opening night of the play, "Booby Trap."
"Booby Trap" is the sequel to "Booby Prize," and will be performed by Heather Carver, a breast cancer survivor herself.
The play is a joint production of Theater NXS and a grant from the Mid-Missouri Susan G. Komen For the Cure.
"Proceeds are incidental at this point since it's funded by a grant," said artistic director LR Hults. "It's really about getting Heather's story out to the community."
The play will emphasize Carver's story of life as a survivor.
"The metaphor of 'Booby Trap' is like the game; one false move and you are out," Carver said.
The curtain opens at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and with a matinee performance starting at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
