Breast Cancer Project Opens House in Jefferson City
The Community Breast Care Project officially opened its doorsTuesday, with a goal of providing a place for breast cancer survivorsto cope with the physical, psychological and social aspects of theirillness.
"There is so much more to breast cancer than medicalcare," explained the project's Mariam Kuensting. "And that's what wewant to address, all those other needs, those other support issues, andjust help and knowledge and talking to somebody who's been there."
Thehouse is open 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Thursday, althoughcoordinators hope to expand the hours and set up a 24-hour help linewhen more volunteers are available.
