Brother, sister die in separate shootings
ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis police are investigating to determine if the shooting deaths of a brother and sister during the weekend are related.
Police say 35-year-old Margaree Dixon died after she was shot several times late Saturday. A few hours later, police responded to another shooting but were told the victim, 29-year-old Jermaine Jones, was taken to a hospital. He died early Sunday of gunshot wounds.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that three men who were with Jones said they were standing outside when a man shot them. No one else was injured.
The two victims are among at least 113 homicides in the city so far this year. The city had 120 confirmed homicides in all of last year.
