Cameras Group Comes Out Against Taser Ban
COLUMBIA - The group behind Columbia's downtown police cameras came out Monday against Proposition 2 on Columbia's November ballot. The measure would outlaw the use of TASERs by Columbia Police and others. The Keep Columbia Safe group issued a statement encouraging voters in Columbia to vote "No" on Proposition 2.
The group thinks the police should be able to use the "best tools" available to fight dangerous crime, and members think TASERs are useful.
On October 27th, Keep Columbia Safe, along with the Boone County Sheriff Dwayne Carey, will hold a TASER Education Forum to teach the public about TASER use.
Keep Columbia Safe is made up of citizens concerned with issues of crime and safety in Columbia.
