Car chase starts near St. Louis, ends in Boone County
BOONE COUNTY - A car chase ended early Monday morning in Boone County after a driver and passenger fled a Missouri State Trooper in Foristell near St. Louis, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
At 1:42 a.m., troopers in the area were notified of the chase of a black sedan on I-70 and nine minutes later, a sergeant with the patrol threw spikes on the road and the car hit them.
The car continued with just two tires until it crashed near the Midway exit. According to online arrest, records, police arrested the driver and passenger just after 2:00 a.m.
Sandor C. Spies, 30, of St. Louis was charged with multiple traffic violations, resisting arrest, a felony warrant for driving while suspended and another felony warrant for identify theft and felony possession.
Michael P. Berner, 37, of St. Louis was arrested on a warrant for possession of dangerous drugs after failing to appear in court.
