Cardinals drop game to Nationals 6-2
ST. LOUIS - The Cardinals lose Game 2 of their three game series against the Washington Nationals 6-2.
The Nationals got off to a hot start by scoring three of the first five runs, including the first of the game off a sac fly from Asdrubal Cabrera to bring Howie Kendrick in. Paul DeJong brought Mikolas in for the run while both Goldschmidt and Fowler advanced due to an error by Nationals' shortstop Trea Turner.
Howie Kendrick had a solo home run in the 4th inning and that set the tone for the night of Washington's batters.
It was a rough night for Cardinals pitcher Miles Mikolas. Through six innings, Mikolas allowed 3 earned runs on 8 hits while only tossing 4 strikeouts.
The Cardinals look to clinch the series 2-1 in St. Louis tomorrow afternoon with a 12:15pm first pitch.
