Cards Put Punto on DL, Royals Call Up Prospect Duffy

COLUMBIA - The Cardinals swept the two games series against the Phillies, and now welcome the Houston Astros to Busch Stadium for a series.

The Cardinals put infielder Nick Punto on the 15-day disabled list with a right forearm injury. Punto had a .262 batting average with eleven runs batted in. The Cards called up infielder Pete Cozma from their Triple A Affiliate in Memphis.

The Royals have called up one of their top pitching prospects, left hander Danny Duffy. He will make the start tonight against the Texas Rangers. Duffy had a mark of 3-1 with an earned run average of 3 at Omaha.

The Royals have fallen below the .500 mark, after losing two games to the first place Cleveland Indians.
