Carjacking in Columbia
Police say at around 6:30pm Tuesday night a woman and her children were exiting their car at the ARC when they were approached by three suspects.
The victim believed one suspect had a weapon and demanded keys and other items. The suspects stole the vehicle and left through the south side exit/entrance.
The stolen car is an 1998 dark green four door Isuzu Oasis van.
Police say two hours later there were reports that suspicious males were in the HYVee grocery store parking lot.
A woman told police that two black males were walking around the parking lot wearing dark colored hoodies with the hoods down. The caller locked the doors of the car she was in when she saw them approaching her vehicle.
The two males put their hoodies up and approached both sides of her vehicle. The male on the driver's side attempted to open the door. The caller yelled at them and they ran to a dark colored van. The van engine was running and there was someone in the driver's seat.
