Carl Edwards Qualifies for Nashville Nationwide
COLUMBIA - There's no Sprint Cup race this week but the Nationwide Series continues this week with qualifying for Nashville this afternoon.
People refer Columbia's Carl Edwards as 'Concrete Carl' because of his 11 wins and five poles, while leading almost 2000 laps. Five of Carl's 10 concrete wins were at Nashville. On the track, Carl starts on the second row, while Brad Keselowski won the pole.
Roush-Fenway's most impressive performance at Nashville came earlier this season, with three cars in the top six, one which included Carl Edwards.
Edwards said, "It was a good lap, I kinda messed up three and for a little bit. it's just like we talked about we feel like we have a great racecar fast and all gear wrench mustang's good in the race. It's good in race trim and last time we came here we qualified 7th so Mike said good job, step it up a few spots. I'm just ready to go racing, it's gonna be a good race tonight. The car is really what makes you fast on these concrete racetracks. It's so tough to manage the grip at these places. A little bit too much aggression a little bit of wheel spin, theres a huge penalty for that. So, my car has been great."
