Cause of Camden County fire unable to be determined
CAMDENTON - The cause of a fire to a 14,000 square foot, four-story mansion on Castleview Road Tuesday afternoon is still to be determined.
Mid County Fire Protection District Chief Scott Frandsen told KOMU 8 News Wednesday the house sustained too much damage in order to identify the source of the fire, even after investigation by the State Fire Marshal's Office.
The fire scene was in a very remote area and water had to be shuttled from a water storage tank located at Mid County Fire Station 6. Firefighters used 50,000 gallons of water in attempts to put the fire out.
The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire and no one was hurt. However, several pets died. The house was burned entirely and 30 acres of land were burned.
Frandsen said the owner of the home has placed a total value of $10 million lost.
