Ceremony Celebrates Columbia Road Completion
COLUMBIA - City officials will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the official opening of Maguire Boulevard. The public is welcome to attend the ceremony held Monday at the north end of Maguire Boulevard at 3 p.m.
The city used a combination of special road district taxes, capital improvement sales taxes, and capital fund balances. Developers also made financial contributions. The project cost $6.9 million.
Maguire Boulevard will now connect Lemone Industrial Boulevard and Stadium Boulevard. It includes two bridges over Grindstone Creek and new sidewalk and bike lanes. Construction was delayed in August due to heavy rains and flooding.
