AFFTON (AP) - A St. Louis man is charged with arson, after authorities allege he opened a valve at a chemical company and then drank beer as he waited for a flammable fluid to leak out. Police say 40-year-old Timothy Fox recently resigned from Manor Chemical Company in Affton, where the fire was set. The fire caused what was described as superficial damage Wednesday. Affton Fire Chief John Rausch says someone tampered with a storage tank, then lit the puddle of chemical that splashed out of the tank and onto the ground. The fire was reported about four o'clock Wednesday morning. Authorities say the chemical involved is used to make thinners and nail polish removers.
